dubly.me

Best YouTube dubbing extensions in 2026

Which YouTube dubbing extension should I use? Our pick is dubly.me. It dubs any YouTube video with captions into 115 languages and lets you set the original's volume and the voice's volume separately. With Basic you choose the voice, and it also works on Netflix, Udemy and Coursera. If the video has no captions, or it is a live stream, an extension that listens to the tab's audio, such as DubTab or LivDub, fits better. All 6 extensions are side by side below.

We make dubly.me, which is why it comes first. The other extensions' details come from their own store listings and websites, checked October 16, 2026. We did not rate the other extensions' translation or voice quality. Sources ↓

About us

Who is dubly.me for?

dubly.me is for people who watch in a smaller language, on their phone, or also on course sites and Netflix.

  • 115 languages, 76 of them with a native voice. Smaller languages too, such as Estonian, Icelandic, Latvian, Maltese and Welsh.
  • YouTube on your phone too. dubly.me works in Firefox for Android today. An Android app that dubs right inside the YouTube app, and an Android TV app, are coming.
  • Not only YouTube: with Basic it also works on Netflix, Udemy, Coursera, Vimeo, edX, TED, Loom and Rumble. On Netflix, turn on the show's subtitles in the original language and dubly.me reads them aloud.
  • Voice, subtitles, or both. You can keep the original audio and just read the translation.

Four kinds

How do these extensions work?

From captions, as it plays. The extension translates the subtitle track the video already has, including YouTube's auto-generated one, and reads it aloud while the video plays. The voice follows the lines. Without captions it does not work. dubly.me, LingTube, YouTube Dubbing (Transduck).

From the tab's audio, live. The extension listens to the sound of the tab and translates the speech as it plays. It works without captions, on live streams and on many sites, but the voice runs half a second to two seconds behind the speaker. DubTab, LivDub.

Speech recognition on the player's audio. The extension recognises the speech in the audio the video player has already loaded and dubs it. No captions needed. TranslateTube and LingTube's paid plan.

Processed first. A video without captions is processed on a server before you watch, and you get an email when it is ready. On unsupported sites you download the video and upload it yourself. YouTube Dubbing (Transduck) Premium.

Tools where you paste a link and get back a dubbed video file are not on this page. They are made for people who publish videos, not for viewers.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Which extension can dub YouTube videos for free?

YouTube Dubbing (Transduck) dubs up to 5 videos a day for free. dubly.me gives 10 minutes a day without an account and 30 with a free account. LivDub gives 45 minutes a day, but needs your own Gemini API key, whose usage is billed to your Google account.

Do I need captions to dub a YouTube video?

For caption-based extensions, yes: dubly.me on YouTube and YouTube Dubbing (Transduck) on its free plan. Auto-generated captions count, and YouTube makes them for almost every video. Audio-based extensions such as DubTab, LivDub and TranslateTube work without captions.

Which of these also work on Netflix?

dubly.me works on Netflix with the Basic plan: turn on the show's subtitles in its original language, and dubly.me dubs them or shows them translated. DubTab names Netflix among the sites where it translates the tab's audio. The other extensions do not list Netflix.

Which ones work in Firefox or on a phone?

In Firefox: dubly.me, LivDub (add-on "LiveDub") and YouTube Dubbing (Transduck). On Android: dubly.me in Firefox for Android, LivDub in Firefox for Android and in its own app, and TranslateTube in its own app. On iPhone: the LivDub app and YouTube Dubbing (Transduck). dubly.me's Android and Android TV apps are coming.

How did you compare them?

By each extension's store listing and website, on the date at the top of the page. We read Transduck's and TranslateTube's prices inside the extension, as they are not public. We did not rate the other extensions' translation or voice quality. The best check is your own: try two or three on the same video.
